FED:Govt probes job scheme rorting claims

SYDNEY, Dec 13 AAP - The federal government is investigating claims a private welfare-to-work
provider has been falsely claiming fees from the Jobs Services Australia scheme.

Former staff members of the ORS Group have alleged senior managers instructed staff
to lodge false claims with the department to attract higher fees and a better chance of
future government contracts, Fairfax Newspapers reported on Tuesday.

Internal government documents show investigators inside the Department of Education,
Employment and Workplace Relations started preparing a brief for prosecutors earlier this
year.

The ORS Group has denied the claims, but said it was forced to repay a small amount
in fees after a department audit 12 months ago discovered errors.
