CHINA LOOKING TO BOOST DEVT OF IT INDUSTRY UNDER 12TH 5-YR PLAN.

BEIJING, March 25 Asia Pulse - The wording "Establishing the next-generation information infrastructure, boosting the application of information technologies in different economic and social sectors, and enhancing the Internet and information security" has been written into the Outline of China's 12th Five-Year Plan for the five years from 2011 to 2015. These may serve as key guidelines to boost the development of China's information technology industry.

As China's strategic emerging industry, the new IT sector will be a key object to get government support, analysts say.

First, communications industry as the foundation for the development of the new IT sector has already commenced large scale infrastructure construction, and is of key importance in the 2011-2015 period.

Secondly, investment in fiber optical communications based on the "broadband China" strategy will go through the whole 12th Five-Year Plan period, and has great potential for further development.

Thirdly, Internet of Things and clouding computing are expected to be popular sectors for investment.

Moreover, the significance of e-commerce has shown in the Plan, which specifies to bolster the construction of e-commerce supporting system during the 2011-2015 period.

The Plan also emphasizes the importance of information security, specifies the request for the construction of e-government system, gives prominence to the geographic information industry, and adds contents on boosting the development of high-tech service industry as well as the construction of digital cities.
